Coaching and sports performance

Developing potential, aiming for excellence.

I put my field experience and technical expertise at the service of athletes, through physical preparation and coaching tailored to their needs and to the demands of their discipline. My goal: to offer an outside perspective, identify areas for progress and guide each athlete to a new level of performance.

Philosophy

A passion for movement, high standards for performance

Convinced that potential is revealed through work, I place the athlete’s development at the heart of my approach. Every athlete has their own resources, their own way of learning and their own room to grow. The coach’s role is to understand them, find the right levers and create the conditions that allow everyone to progress.

From learning to high-level performance, the approach stays the same: observe, understand, experiment, repeat and refine. With high standards and patience, work gives meaning to movement and gradually turns intentions into mastery.

Rise through work. Because behind every accomplished movement lie time, commitment and a constant desire to go further.

Who am I?

Passionate about sport and movement, I have built my path around the desire to learn, to understand and to progress. A competitive spirit and a constant drive to improve have always played an important part in my relationship with sport.

Over the years, the desire to pass on knowledge and to support others has grown stronger. Being able to contribute to athletes’ development, help them explore their possibilities and see them flourish in their practice gives meaning to my commitment. Their success, whether athletic or personal, is at the heart of my approach.

Career & achievements

My career as a coach has been built over the years, working with athletes of varied profiles and goals. From emerging talent to elite sport, my experience with Ski Romand and Swiss-Ski has allowed me to support skiers in their progression, technical development and competition preparation.

This path has been marked by notable team successes, including several Swiss junior champion titles in slopestyle and halfpipe, as well as a bronze medal in halfpipe at the Gangwon 2024 Winter Youth Olympic Games. I have also had the opportunity to work as a coach at international level, at World Cups and World Championships.

Physical preparation and performance

Developing the physical qualities needed for performance by building a preparation adapted to the athlete’s needs and the demands of their sport.

The service is built around several areas:

  • Needs analysis: understanding the demands of the sport, the athlete’s background and the qualities to develop.
  • Individualised programming: building targeted sessions and organising the work over time to develop the physical qualities needed for performance.
  • On-site coaching: observing, assessing and adjusting the work to ensure relevant and effective training.
  • Monitoring and progression: adapting the preparation to the athlete’s development and the demands of their sporting season.
  • Athlete support: supporting the athlete’s motivation, confidence and well-being, including the mental aspects of performance, through regular exchanges, in the field or remotely by video.

The preparation alternates supervised sessions and independent training, according to everyone’s needs and goals. I travel directly to training locations to offer a preparation adapted to the athlete, their daily life and their environment.

Freestyle coaching and technical expertise

Developing the technical skills needed for freestyle performance through coaching adapted to the athlete’s needs and the demands of their discipline, based on my field experience and individual monitoring.

Support that includes:

  • Movement optimisation: improving execution, increasing efficiency and fine-tuning details on snow.
  • Technical ski mastery: working on pressure, positioning and ski handling to gain precision.
  • Air awareness: developing movement control and technical reference points on trampoline and airbag.
  • Individualised progression: identifying each athlete’s own levers for progress and building targeted work.
  • Individual and mental support: supporting the athlete’s progression and staying attentive to the mental aspects of performance, through exchanges in the field or remotely by video.

Coaching can take different forms, from a one-off session to regular support, on snow or off snow. It targets each athlete’s technical needs while staying attentive to the mental aspects that can influence their progress.

I worked with Jérôme the summer before the 2026 Olympic Games. We worked on my technique on the slopes and did airbag camps. Jérôme has excellent technical knowledge, he is meticulous about details and patient, which helped me gain precision in my tricks and in my skiing. I would work with him again without hesitation!

Thank you Jérôme for the many tips, both in physical conditioning and in the air. You know how to adapt and, above all, you listen.

Pure pleasure!

Jérôme is a coach who gave me a huge amount throughout my high-level freestyle skiing career. Thanks to his guidance, I was able to progress enormously and reach the European Cup stages, an important milestone in my sporting career, which then led me to join the Swiss freestyle ski team, of which I am currently a member.

His coaching allowed me to develop both physically and mentally. He knew how to push me to give my best, to go beyond my limits and to believe in my abilities.

His professionalism, his listening and his commitment played an important role in my progress. I recommend him to anyone who wants to reach their goals and push their limits.

I’ve been training with Jérôme for almost 10 years. On skis, Jérôme knows his field perfectly. He knows how to set a proper framework and build trust between the skis, the athlete and himself. He never overlooks the basics and the small things, and he knows how to refine every detail.

Since I started working on my physical preparation with Jérôme, I feel much more comfortable on skis. I’ve gained power and reactivity. He targets exactly what I need and adapts to any situation. He listens and adapts very quickly to the athlete’s needs.

Among the coaches who shaped my journey, Jérôme Cavin holds a very special place. His patience and kindness gave me the confidence to try new tricks and push my limits. Beyond skiing, he passed on real discipline in training and a competitor’s mindset that still serve me today. It is largely thanks to him that I was able to progress all the way to the Swiss-Ski squad.

Thank you Jérôme for everything you’ve given me. You’re always there to listen, and you know like no one else when to be serious and when it’s fine to have a laugh. Your tips on snow are top-notch, but what you taught me beyond it, about life, is worth even more.

The Boss.
